Rowley's sacking unjustified
There is a growing awareness among many that Dr Rowley was dismissed in very questionable circumstances.
It was given to the public by PM Manning that Rowley was guilty of misconduct of a nature and/or degree that his sacking from the Cabinet was warranted and that no other alternative was available. These were not Manning's words but what I extract having studied the matter from 24th April 2008 - based on media reports.
The public and Dr Rowley are confused by PM Manning's actions. So far no one seems to know what was the offending conduct that Rowley was guilty off. The matter seems to be very hush-hush.
The situation is rather similar to Ken Valley's removal in Nov 2007.
Is the PM accountable to the people? Can Rowley take legal action against the PM for breach of some Constitutional principle? What will happen next? What do others think?

...this is truly shameful...while the citizens are paralysed and remain in a state of helplessness...while the shenanigans and trickery continues unabated...???
...Rowley was right in that this a "runaway horse"..."a tail that is wagging the dog..."...or more importantly..."what does Hart hold over the Prime Minister..."???
...this will not be allowed to happen in any sane civilized and democratic country on the face of the earth...but only in good ole Trinidad & Tobago...land of milk and honey...!
...but where is Hart...and/or Patrick...or both...???...and where is the lame duck President too...in all of this...???...and why are they so silent...???

..."LAWYERS representing Udecott are set to withdraw one of two pending judicial review proceedings against the Commissioners of the Uff Commission of Inquiry, sources said yesterday," as reported in the news media February 18, 2010.
...“They are settling; it’s going nowhere,” one source said. “It made no sense, they had no case and they are wasting taxpayers money. They were bound to fail.”
...to recap, this entire issue revolves around "The Salmon letter, issued to Udecott on April 30, 2009, which summarises charges made against the company by parties in the inquiry". Some of the charges refers to allegations that Udecott has vested executive chairman Calder Hart “with excessive and disproportionate powers” and in doing so, it has allowed “improper and potentially corrupt influence over tender processes”.
...it further outlines a detailed list of criticisms about Udecott to answer in relation to the company’s procurement practices, the letter alleges that Udecott has been “allowing, or facilitating improper and potentially corrupt influence over tender processes”; Udecott also further failed to adopt the Government’s standard procurement procedures; UdeCOTT broke its own rules and permitted the introduction of bidders after the close of pre-qualification process; permitted bidders who are not compliant with tender rules and failed to report to its line ministry in compliance with the Government’s procurement rules."
...in addition, and with regard to the company’s method of operations, the letter accuses Udecott of “vesting chairman (Calder Hart) with excessive and disproportionate powers”; and facilitating or permitting “fragmented management procedures”.
...the letter also goes on to question the payment of millions of dollars worth of advances to contractor Hafeez Karamath Limited (HKL) on the Brian Lara Stadium project in Tarouba".
...this is the core, and a rotten one at that, of the complaint being advanced by the fully owned State Company, UDECOTT and its Chairman, Calder hart, against the "people of Trinidad & Tobago"...in trying to find out the real facts into the highly questionable operations of UDECOTT and it's Chairman Calder hart, which has brought on an unecessary expense to the people of our country...!
...and yet, not a single word from our Prime Minister in the face of all the evidence tabled to the commission to date...and then the Prime Minister had the unmitigated gall to say in Parliament, that they should not discount that Calder Hart may be and could be a member of the Integrity Commission...???
...will the people ever stand up to Manning and his Government and say enough is enough...???...this is Zimbabwe mentality being foisted on our people in Trinidad & Tobago...by Manning with impunity and total disrespect...!
...well, so much for the Uff Commission Report to the lame duck President Maxwell Richards that is due sometime by the end of February, 2010...???
...like Rowley said...its the "tail now wagging the dog"...and Calder Hart is "calling the shots" ...and Patrick just obeying "his master's voice"...???

...so, as we predicted, the infamous Uff report which was due to be delivered to the President by February 28th, 2010 is now reportedly delayed until after a court hearing on March 5th, 2010, ....!
..."Legal sources said yesterday that an undertaking was given and the report will now be handed in following the March 5 ruling by Justice Mira Dean-Armorer."
..."the Government (reluctantly) appointed the Commission "to investigate the procurement processes of UDeCOTT, following stinging allegations of those practices made by then Housing Minister Keith Rowley in 2008."
...but instead...Udecott continued to make every effort to delay or derail the Commission of Enquiry with their ongoing legal manouvering using taxpayers funds by stating... "The State-owned developer and chairman Calder Hart claim that the commission members singled out the corporation for unfair treatment during the enquiry...???"
..."They singled out the Corporation (UDeCOTT) for unfair treatment...?...but isn't this what the allegation by Housing Minister Keithe Rowley was all about...?..."to investigate the procurement process of UDeCOTT...in the first place...???
...."but lawyers representing the commission argued that the lawsuit was a ’pre-emptive strike’ against the report and allegations of bias raised against the chairman were unfounded..."...and rightly so, this is a blatant waste of taxpayers monies by Calder Hart and UDeCOTT, and this is all condoned and supported by the Manning and his regime...!...the burning question is WHY...???
...when the President's mandate and directive by and under our constitution can be blatantly disregarded and thwarted at every turn by the Prime Minister and his cronies...then we are staring straight at a "failed state"...a replica of Zimbabwe...?

HIGH COURT judge Justice Mira Dean-Armorer yesterday shot down an attempt by Udecott lawyers to stop the Uff Commission of Inquiry from submitting a final report to President George Maxwell Richards.
In a 142-page judgment, Dean-Armorer rejected several grounds on which Udecott had applied for the proceedings to be declared illegal..."

With courtesy to all our dedicated media and news reporters...the screaming headlines above is a stark reminder and keep sake of what the power of the media and the people can accomplish in a free and democratic society, if only they put some effort into it and to not allow pseudo-dictators to trample all over them unchecked and to keep them blinded by race and ethnicity and/or religion and culture as the Prime Minister has been recently introducing in defence of "his church" being built at Guanapo with the help of Hart, UdeCOTT and Juliana Pena, his see-er woman...spiritual guide and advisor...?.
To all the fans of this site who have followed with interest the ongoing saga of UdeCOTT and its Chariman Calder Hart, along with the machinations of our beloved Prime Minister Patrick Manning who steadfastly and stoutly defended his pal and good friend in every which way, let all of the above serve as warnings and indicators that the power of the people remain supreme, despite what spirit moves Patrick and his gang of cabinet members.!...as Rowley says...its just the beginning...?
This must have been a very busy and agonizing week for the Mannings and the Harts...all packing to fly out of the country at such short notice...just like Arabs, they packed up and folded their tents in the middle of the night and disappeared without a single word spoken...by both Manning or Hart...?...leaves you to wonder if they read the writing on the wall...or the 142 page judgement of Justice Mira Dean-Armorer...?
I can agree, this is only the beginning...there's lots more to come yet, and more to come out into the open yet, including the debate in Parliament, as Kamla put it, of the "incontrovertible evidence" of Calder Hart and his family ties in Malaysia with respect to contracts handed out by him as Chairman of UdeCOTT, with or without Panday and his childish antics...?

...this has come about after the AG Jeremie met with Calder Hart of Udecott and he (Calder Hart) agreed to instruct his legal team to amend the court order to allow the Commission of Enquiry to proceed...!
...this is the most interesting turn of events in this Udecott Saga, as the last time I looked, Udecott was a Corporate Sole, wholly owned by the people of Trinidad & Tobago.
...in this regard, arising out of allegations made against Hart and Udecott in Parliament, the Prime Minister requested the President to install a commission of enquiry into the construction industry and more particularly including Udecott...!
...since then, Udecott, through its Executive Chairman Calder Hart and his legal team, has stalled the progress of the enquiry in every which way, and now the Attorney General has to get the "permission" of Calder Hart to proceed with the Enquiry, with "conditions attached"...?
...Rowley was right when he referred to Udecott as operating as a "Runaway Horse" and a "rogue State Enterprise"..."reporting to no one "...not the Line Minister...or Cabinet...and now seemingly turning its back on "the President of Trinidad & Tobago"...and apparently snubbing the Office of The President ...in challenging his order to the Commission to proceed with their mandated task...unless Calder Hart agrees...? ...seems a bit strange...does'nt it...?

...and the public seem to also have caught on to the Udecott games, and the pressure now start to mount on Manning and his Cabinet, and they still "ducking for cover", they still in hiding, except for "JJ The AG"...who is getting nothing but pure disrecpect at every turn, from Hart and his lawyers and his Board of Directors... on to Senator Mark Wade who is applying the pressure to have him act or resign...!

...and then to hear one of the Directors on the Udecott Board say that they had no instructions from the Cabinet or the Line Minister, and even if they did, they will have to consult their lawyer first before anything else...?...as Rowley put it to them...if they don't like it, go home...or get their own money and register their own corporation and play Director's if they want, but not with taxpayers monies...!
...well said Rowley..you are quite correct...to even hear a Director say that it was not costing the taxpayers anything for the legal fees for Udecott lawyers, as these we being paid from the "profits from Udecott projects"...this Director fail to understand that the corporate sole is the Government who is "the people" and any profits accrue to the account of the shareholders...it is their monies...where does this Director think the profit goes to...the Director's pockets and Cander Hart's...?
...in developed countries, their are Laws and Statutory requirements in place for the conduct of Board of Directors...one of which is "Joint & Several Liabilities"...simply put, if shareholders monies are mismanaged, abused or pilfered, the entire Board of Directors are held "Jointly and Severally Liable" for the mismanagement of the funds...hence in the USA and Canada, you would see frequent "Resignation of Directors" the moment anyone of them see any underhanded actions being taken by the other Directors, so they don't get caught and prosecuted, in which event those who are, get jalied and fined individually and together...thats the check and balance for the Board in acting responsibly towards management of shareholders funds...!...but not so in good ole T&T, the Directors saying "we nah leavin"...and the Government (JJ the AG) begging them to do favours like going back to court and "lettin' the commission of inquiry proceed..".? ...what a joke...!
...well for a change, the people seeing through this charade, and "the pot now reach the boiling point"...so I say to Udecott, just keep pushing the fire...keep it boiling...the people now wake up and smelling the coffee, including the die hard PNMites...is bobol and corruption gone to the highest...this makes Panday and the Airport scandal look like child play and pocket change...!

...over this past year, much has happened with Professor Uff's "Commission of Inquiry" into the operation of Udecott, a "State Enterprise" 100% owned by the Government of Trinidad & Tobago, and by extension, the "people of Trinidad & Tobago"....!
...over the past year, much has been said an revealed in the course of the Inquiry, and while there has been some surprises, there was lots that came out into the public domain which confirmed some of the people's worst fears into abuse of taxpayer's monies by Udecott...!
...in this regard, I have refrained from making any comments, as yet, since it was very obvious that the lawyers representing Udecott were on the lookout for "any reasons" they could find to have this Inquiry scuttled, and perhaps had some help from the Government Regime itself...as it leaves very little to wonder about with respect to the current revelations...!
...as it is on hold for the time being, until the Government comes up with another of its schemes to continue to fool and punish the people for wanting to find out about Calder Hart and Udecott, and Patrick Manning's relationship with him, and who is really running the show in good ole T&T where Udecott is concerned...as its very obvious its not The President, its not the Attorney General, its not the Cabinet Ministers of the government, and its not the "Line Minister", so its either Patrick Manning or is it Calder Hart...? ...which...?
...to the people of Trinidad & Tobago, this is the making of a "National Disgrace", and an insult to all the people who love and cherish this country as their home...!

...WHERE DOES UDECOTT GETS ITS BILLIONS FROM...asks Professor UFF...!

..." CHAIRMAN of the Commission of Inquiry into Udecott, Professor John Uff, yesterday asked where the billion-dollar state company gets its money from, as he quizzed fired trade minister Dr Keith Rowley, over the decision making process of the company."
“We are told that Udecott has an asset base of over four billion dollars,” Uff told Rowley after lawyers in the inquiry completed two days of cross-examination of the Diego Martin MP.
“Are you aware of where those assets came from? Because this was a one million dollar company when it started,” Uff said. “What’s the basis of their (Udecott’s) income?”
Rowley responded: “Udecott’s earnings are minuscule. Udecott’s asset base, if you trace its origin, it’s a relocation of public funds largely coming from the Consolidated Fund or some development programme.”
“Udecott’s operation is really project management. The Cabinet will conceive and approve a project and the Government will ask Udecott to accomplish that by way of execution, for which Udecott will charge a fee,” Rowley explained, giving a rare insight into the relationship between the private company and the State.
“One had to take into account that it’s public monies that is moved from some other place where that money was, either the treasury or from a loan potential,” Rowley said. Uff questioned Rowley on the details of the International Waterfront Project, Wrightson Road, a project for which Udecott has acted as “a commercial landlord,” owning the property on a build, own, operate basis.
...as I said last year, one cannot take Public Monies (Funds) and use it as a "Private Company" of your own without any accountability to Parliament (i.e. the people) and without any oversight of any kind...?...".."a relocation of Public Funds...?"...from the Consolidated Funds to Udecott's bank account...?...thats a "Private Company..."?...that would be "jail time in the good ole U.S.A..."!!!
...even the solicitors of Udecott are saying during their line of cross examination, that Udecott is "answerable to no one", "not even the line Minister..."...???...all the while using "public monies" (taxpayer monies) to fund its operation...?...which part of the world and in which country does this kind of (shenanigan) ever happen...? ...only in Third World countries...in the backwoods of Zimbabwe...???...and in sweet Trinidad & Tobago...???
...and all of this "free for all" with people's monies (read: our monies - Public Funds...?) without even a written contract...???
...the "hood-winking" the public of our own funds have been going on for far too long a time, without any oversight or accountability...!..and dey like it so...building their "asset base to four Billion..."... "with little or no income..."??...well dey have another word for that in the U.S.A...ah tink dey call it fraud...but dey could always ask Conrad Black...(Lord Crossharbour)...he knows more about it than me, because he spending time in a U.S jail right now...(78) seventy-eight months in total...courtesy of the U.S citizens...for using "THEIR MONIES as HIS OWN" ...just like his own "Piggy Bank"...???...he even also asked out going President Bush for a "pardon" but he did'nt get a reply...poor soul...Bush was too busy...or made himself too busy to reply...?
...no, I don't expect that to really happen in Trinidad & Tobago also...no, but I have a gut feeling that Professor Uff will keep pushing the envelope...as he's already caught on to the "game"..."their game"...he's quick...and Udecott's solicitors knows that they are not going to "bamboozle" him that easily...if at all...???

...furthr more, Professor Uff said some of the requested information from UdeCOTT ...i.e.The Constitution and Procurement Practices was made to UdeCOTT on October 16, 2008 and the "bundle" submitted by UdeCOTT was found to be "manifestly incomplete"...! The Proff Uff gave them 72 hours to produce the documents...talk about getting "tuff"...!
...amongst other "tings" being discussed at this early stage, which are mostly proceedural in nature, including who will give evidence first and what order, the "Cleaver Heights Project" etc...Calder Hart has requested through his solicitors that information concerning himself among other things "should be sanitized" first...interesting...and my friends, be mindful that it is reported that he has retained a solicitor specially for "defamation of his character"...so be on guard...if you all will remember Lord Mustill's famous remark at the last hearing..."Open-ness is the watchword"...well I feel that Professor Uff is going to be challenged at every turn to maintain "open-ness", as they have already excluded one newspaper from the opening day proceedings, intentionally or not...!

...Ever since the last time this topic (UDECOTT) was debated in Parliament, Manning offered the Commission of Enquiry (COE) as a temporary ploy to stall for time to dip into his bag of tricks,(in his back-pocket) and distract the people from UDECOTT...!
...well it sure backfired big time on him...just like the snake oil salesman running out of snake oil...sneaking out in the middle of the night before he got lynched in the old wild west frontier country...for peddling lotions and potions that did not work and/or for making empty and hollow promises that could not be fulfilled...!
...even his veiled threat to investigate the entire construction industry; who asked for that, Rowley? all the man said wanted was to delve into the internal workings of UDECOTT, thats all, thats where he said the problem was, and that's what he wanted exposed...thats what he wanted the people to know about, the workings of UDECOTT and Calder Hart, not the whole bloody construction industry of T&T...!
...but as all the walls of Jerico keeps tumbling down piece by piece and in a hurry from every which way...Manning realized he don't know where to "duck and run" and hide anymore...suddenly, he have all these trips away in far places that have little to do with Trinidad & Tobago...in fact, he was last reported today to be in Washington to meet the advisors of U.S Presidential Candidate McCain....well yes, Manning must be so important, the whole world revolves around him, and god help us all, McCain must be told this personally...!
.....but Rowley on a roll right now, and the more the rothweiller barks, and the more time passes, the more frightened Manning and the PNM getting as more and more skeletons keep popping out of the closet and into plain view in broad daylight, and as you know Frankenstein Manning don't like it one bit, daylight hurt his eyes and also shines on stuff thats hidden from public view, he rather all this stuff remain in the dark, including his new sidekick Mariano Browne...as well as his Cabinet and the other PNMites...!

...then it was the (50) fifty Rooms (Presidential suites) at the Hilton Hotel which again Rowley said they were trying to slip under his nose and to which he said he became a "marked man" by Manning when he talked about it...the same ones which Mariano Browne said they were only "floating as ideas" and there was nothing to it, and Rowley was wrong about it...!
...you see, it seems like all the PNM talk about at Cabinet Meetings are "floating Hotel Rooms"...! Patrick Manning seems to have this obsession with Hotel Rooms...but...!

...and all the while even as Colm Imbert (Mr.Know it all) espousing the multitude of benefits of the JSC for both the Opposition MP's as well as for the public, and the A-G, Brigid Anisette-George also vigorously defending the virtues of the JSC on behalf of the Government, and then the Prime Minister himself spending all of 70 minutes extolling the "superior-ity" of the JSC...!
...and just when Ramesh offered his investigator's findings on the UdeCOTT/Hart/Sunway and the in-laws(Chinese/Malayasian connections) thought they threw Manning the knock out punch and he was leaning on the ropes, ready to hit the canvass, he just staggered right back into the ring with a surprise...!
...in come the "sneaky snake oil salesman" to spoil all their fun and pull straight out of his back pocket in a "vaps", and to everyone's surprise, a Commission of Enquiry,(COE), just like they have been clammering for, and even throw in a Chairman of the Commission as a "bonus" and for good measure, knowing full well that just the name of Gordon Deane (former Integrity Commissioner) will piss them off royally, especially Rowley, which it did...and threw them all off their collective feet...!

...and now in the meantime we keep getting more and more news about this "Sunway Carribean Construction Limited" which was awarded a $368 million dollars contract and how its tied in to Hart and his relatives, amongst other things...!
...and then a quick look on the website you could easily find under "Sunway Holdings Incorporated Berhad ("SUNWAY") a reference No SH-071004-15E9B dated Oct.4/07 - A Quarry Agreement between Sunway Construction (Carribbean) Limited a wholly owned subsidiary of Sunway Construction SDN BHD and NATIONAL QUARRIES COMPANY LIMITED, (NQCL) a Company owned by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago for the purposes of quarry products for government projects in Trinidad...!
...so its passing strange when there is all this hue and cry about these multi million dollar contracts being signed and handed out without the benefit of public tender, when there are so many contracts and give away of the resources of T&T, when one could look at the "Quarry Agreement" and its terms and wonder why we as Trinis have to approach a "foreign company" -SUNWAY CONSTRUCTION to buy our aggregates for building both buildings and roads, when everyone including Manning, all talking about the rising prices of "construction materials", steel and aggregates, on reading this agreement you could easily see why the prices keep rising in Trinidad and Tobago, as they are all for the benefit of SUNWAY and its shareholders...! ...read the agreement...its right there in black and white...but why is it a "secret, a government secret...??? Inflation is not a secret though, and now you could see why...the Chinese Connection are not complaining, everything wrapped up tight, and Manning knows this well enough...! so just wait for the COE...!
...this is another trick in Manning's book, all this mamaguy and delaying...all the while the "shredding machine working overtime" and just like "watergate" the "evidence disappearing" while we waiting for the so called COE to be set up, not forgetting the onerus and exhaustingly long list of the mandate, to enquire into all of the construction industry, practice and procedure in T&T, oh and by the way, while you're at it, could you all take a quick look at how UDECOTT handles contracts and see if it fits in with international standards...not a real priority here...if you get the chance while you're looking into the T&T contractors and their shenanigans...what a real joke...by Manning ...what a laugh...he ain't fooling nobody...!
...so lets get the show on the road, if you have nothing to hide Manning, then why are you so afraid to really look into the operations of UDECOTT and Calder Hart...why, what does he hold over you...must be something very important...like the tables turn and now the "tail now wagging the dog" and you don't know where and how far to run, just like how Hart run from Saskatchewan, Canada...Manning making friends in places in Africa, a place to hide...???

This agreement in my view, as posted on the internet website, will definitely come into focus and become an integral part of the COE's review as they delve into the workings of Sunway, Calder Hart, his in-laws and the Government of Trinidad & Tobago and its minister's activities into the signing of this particular agreement...and who else knows what? Time and foot dragging on the part of the government won't help unless the people fall for the "snake oil salesman " routine again, but we'll see yet...!

The issued deposit on shares and issued ordinary shares of NQCL are TT$26,427,000 (US$4,225,677) and TT$2,480,000 (US$396,552) respectively The principal activities of NQCL are quarrying, mining, extraction, processing and sale of aggregates.
3. INFORMATION ON TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago lies in the southern Caribbean, northeast of the South American nation of Venezuela. It is an industrialized country whose economy is based on petroleum and petrochemicals. The country is the 5th largest exporter of liquefied natural gas in the world ("LNG"). It has become the leading exporter of LNG to the United States, and now supplies some 70% of U.S. LNG imports.

4. SALIENT TERMS OF THE QUARRY AGREEMENT
The Quarry Agreement was entered into for the purposes of producing quarry products for government projects in Trinidad for a period of 5 years, with an option to renew for a further period of 5 years. Among the salient terms of the Agreement are:-
i) NQCL shall guarantee the purchase of 5 million metric tons of aggregates for the initial 5 year term from Sunway CC at pre-determined prices.
ii) NQCL shall reimburse Sunway CC for any price increase in diesel above the current price of TT$1.30 (US$0.21) per litre for use of diesel by any equipment utilised at the quarry
5. RATIONALE
The Sunway Group presently operates 7 quarries in Malaysia and 2 quarries in Vietnam. The Quarry Agreement enables the Group to further expand its overseas quarry operations in line with its strategy of expanding into foreign countries in businesses where it possesses core competencies. The Group brings to the Trinidad quarry its technical expertise and experience in quarry operations which has enabled it to be one of the lowest cost and most efficient quarry operators.
6. EFFECTS OF THE QUARRY AGREEMENT
6.1 On Share Capital and Substantial Shareholders’ Shareholdings
There will be no effect on the share capital and substantial shareholders’ shareholdings of Sunway as the Quarry Agreement does not involve any allotment or issuance of new shares by Sunway.
6.2 On Earnings Per Share and Net Assets Per Share
The Quarry Agreement is not expected to have any immediate material effect on the earnings per share and net assets per share of Sunway for the financial year ending 30 June 2008 but is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings of Sunway Group.
7. APPROVALS REQUIRED
The Quarry Agreement does not require the approval of shareholders of Sunway or any relevant authorities.
8. DIRECTORS' AND MAJOR SHAREHOLDERS' INTERESTS
Insofar as the directors are aware, none of the directors or major shareholders of Sunway or persons connected with them has any interest, direct or indirect, in the Quarry Agreement.

Doctor, His Imperial Highness, Emperor Patrick Mugabe has embarked on the next phase in his quest to consolidate power and has "weeded out" yet another potential threat to his dictatorial ambitions by firing Dr. Rowley. Surely this must raise questions and sound alarm bells.
Questions of transparency and accountability, questions, like those raised by Mary King as to who informs policy, the direction and allocation of this country's resources. Simply put, the question is who benefits from all the megaprojects upon which the Patrick Panning administration has embarked? Is it those big-shot lobbyists and one-hundred-thousand-dollar-a-plate businessmen who lurk on the fringes of this administration?
What about all those so-called "private" or "semi-state companies" into which public money is pumped, companies which skirt the law to avoid scrutiny on how our money is being spent, UTT and Caribbean Airlines even. Clearly the beneficiaries of this Patrick Manning regime are not to be found among the common man, the small man - THE POOR MAN.
Rowley might be standing at the tip of this iceberg. Trinidad and Tobago is being steered towards this iceberg and a collision of Titanic proportions. I pray that the ship of state does not suffer that same fate as that doomed vessel.
This, my friends is food for thought, the only food some of us may yet afford.

It is rather unfortunate that the predicitions made by many of us at Freedom Chambers pre-election are now coming through.
Small-mindedness among UNC and COP supporters led to each group slinging blame at the other for the PNM victory. These were acts of utter stupidity, because each party has a Constitutional right to contest and election. The issue of course was that each ruling party in T&T, when in power, failed to introduced proportional represenatation - similar seen over here in the UK. So their harvest is what they deserved.
A people divided by tribal loyalties and race will forever be oppressed and ruled. So-called Indians in T&T hope that Panday and Ramesh will take them to the promised land. So-called Africans hope the PNM will deliver the land of milk and honey. COP people are in the middle.
Ramesh prepares for a spot election, which is not a bad idea.
There are those (sympathetic to the UNC) who would accuse the COP of splitting the vote, of being spoilers in the last General Election of 2007. To them I say this:
Might it not be that those that voted COP would not have voted UNC anyway, that if COP did not come into being some of those votes would have gone directly to the PNM and others would not have even bothered to vote?
To say therefore that the COP split the vote, well, might be at most speculative for I see for this assertion no basis in fact, as no exit polls were done to support that claim.
Let me here say that there are still some who see their right to vote as an individual choice, who will not allow themselves to be swayed by the direction taken any support base.
Those that willingly submit themselves to be drawn along in a particular sway, be it because of fashion or perceived popularity, in defiance of their own inner guidance are not leaders. They might be better described as followers; followers who value being part of the crowd over being counted as being Individual.
According to C.G. Jung, the Individual is un-divided and has achieved wholeness of self, having reconciled conflicts in his inner life. He is now guided by the Inner Voice and not by external forces, not even crowds and does not see himself as part of the herd. Such a person who has attained Individuality who has attained a state of un-dividedness is thus now seen to be a leader, with a clear direction and purpose.
The Individual, one who values his own inner voice, even though he prefers not to part of the crowd now finds himself at the center of the crowd that begins to assemble around him.
The leader must be prepared to step back, away from the herd and the instinctive tribalism upon which it feeds. That is what defines the leader. All that voted conscience in that last General Election - in my eyes - are leaders, as following, for them, was not an option.
Perhaps Rienzi needs to examine more the philosophy of C.G. Jung and relegate that of Machiavelli to the background.

...next question...all this week Lenny Saith keep saying that what happened in that meeting is "SECRET" and stamped secret and cannot be revealed because of the "oath of secracy" they all took as Cabinet Ministers...right???
...so what was Calder Hart doing in there in the presence of "top secret" government documents, and why or what was the nature of these discussions in his presence...? When did he "take an oath" to be privy to these documents which Lenny Saith keep saying he can't discuss with the public or the press???
...at least Rowley asked all non-government officials to leave the room to discuss his concerns about the 60 Room hotel which they all seemed not to know anything about before that day...that is the correct approach in dealing with priviledged information and government secret documents...so what was Lenny Saith doing as Charman of the meeting having Calder Hart in the presence of these documents???
...this seems like a set up to me, purposely done to "trap" Rowley, and it worked, except for Eden Shand showing up with the plans without the HOTEL, Manning insisting it was always in the cards and UdeCOTT now saying it was always in the cards, it was on their "website" and "brochures" about the "60 room hotel", except it is still not on the plans filed by UDECOTT to date...
