In a Trini Hell

By Captain Walker - Posted on 15 April 2008

An Englishman dies and finds to his disappointment that he ends up in Hell!. To his surprise he discovers that there is a separate Hell for each country, all adjacent to each other. And to his further surprise he has a choice. The clever chap that he is, he decides to pick the least painful Hell to spend his eternity.

Avoiding at first the English hell, so as not to meet the likes of Harold Shipman, he goes to German hell and enquires, "What do they do here?" He is told by the custodian "First they put you in an electric chair for an hour. Then they lay you on a bed of nails for another hour. Then the German devil comes in and whips you for the rest of the day". The man does not like the sound of that at all so he moves on.

He checks out the American Hell as well as the Russian Hell and many more. To his horror he discovers that they are all similar to the German Hell.

Finally he sees a long line of people outside of the Trini Hell. Curiosity and desperation get the better of him. He breaks the queue and goes to the top to meet the Trini custodian and asks, "What's going on? What do they do here?" He is told "Fus dey put yuh een ah electric chair fuh ah hour. Den dey lay yuh on a bed of nails fuh anodda hour. Dee Trini devil will den come eeen an' whip yuh ass fuh dee res' of dee day".

"But that is exactly the same as the other Hells, so why are there so many people waiting to get in?" asks the man in a confused tone.

The custodian informs him, "Boy, t'ings a li'le different here. Dey neva have electricity dong here so dee electric chair doh work. Dee nails fuh dee bed paid for but was neva supplied. And dee Trini devil used to be a civil servant, so he does jes come een tuh sign he timesheet and go back home to private business. Yuh have a problem wid dat? Join dee line please."
